LA Times Celebrates Huntington Beach as California’s First KultureCity Sensory Inclusive Certified Destination

Speaking from experience, Kristy Durso, comments on importance of a welcoming community at destination locations like Huntington Beach, during press conference marking Huntington Beach as first city to earn a California Sensory Inclusive® Certification on Thursday.

Who better to take the stage than TravelAbility ambassador, Kristy Durso, and TravelAbility board member and KultureCity leader Meg Raby, to lead the celebration of an accessibility milestone? 

Fourteen partners city-wide have been both certified by KultureCity and verified by Wheel the World and 1,538 visitor-facing employees and public safety personnel received sensory-inclusive training.

“None of this would have happened had it not been for the TravelAbility Summit,” shared Sophia Valdivia, Director of Tourism Development for Visit Huntington Beach. It was through the TravelAbility Summit that Sophia met TravelAbility Ambassador Kristy Durso, Meg with KultureCity, and Arturo and the Wheel the World team.
